This blight resistant cultivar produces some of the largest filberts available! They have pointed, round shells and have a fine nutty flavor. The pretty, soft-green crinkled leaves make this 15-20' tree a fine ornamental as well. Showy, golden male catkins in March pollinate the inconspicuous female flowers that become the fall harvest. 'Hall's Giant' can pollinate and be pollinized by Clark, Epsilon, Gamma, Lewis, Tonda di Giffoni, Willamette, Yamhill, and Zeta. Pollination is best when three compatible cultivars are planted together. S/M
